SensiLab’s Prof. Jon McCormack will be presenting a new paper at this year’s EvoMUSART conference, Aberystwyth, Wales, United Kingdom. Titled “No Longer Trending on Artstation: Prompt Analysis of Generative AI Art”. The paper, written with co-authors Teresa Llano, Stephen Krol and Nina Rajcic, analysed over 2 million prompts used in generative AI image systems (Stable Diffusion and Midjourney). Both the prompts and images they generate were analysed to try and understand how people author prompts and what imagery and subjects are the most common. The paper also looked at references to human artists and artistic styles, and the reaction of some of the most popular referenced artists to having their “style” replicated by AI.
You can download a copy of the paper on arxiv.
