Dr Sojung BahngPhD graduate

Dr Sojung Bahng is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator and director. Her research is focused on the intersection of arts and technology, especially new media film and virtual reality art.

Sojung completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof Jon McCormack and Dr Vince Dziekan at SensiLab in 2020. Her research explored the historical, social and philosophical contexts of new media, and ways of developing original media systems that reflect new aesthetic experiences through digital media. Sojung also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Broadcasting, Art Theory) from the School of Film, TV & Multimedia at the Korea National University of Arts, and a Masters degree in Culture Technology from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. She currently works as a researcher in the Immersive Storytelling group at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
