Sam FreemanPhD student

Sam Freeman is a researcher with a background in data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation. Previously, he researched audiences and issues such as gender, violence against women, health, education and governance across Asia and the Pacific for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation International Development.

Sam is currently undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Prof Mark Andrejevic and Prof Jon McCormack, researching the ethics of artificial intelligence and the impact of automated decision making.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, and a Graduate Diploma of Media and Communications and Master of Development Studies from the University of Melbourne.
