Meng YangPhD student

Meng is a musician and researcher with a background in mathematics and data science with industry experience as a data analyst.

She is currently undertaking her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Maria Teresa Llano and Prof. Jon McCormack. Her research interests are in creative applications of AI to music. Her work is investigating new kinds of creative AI musical systems, ones that support deep collaboration between musician and AI.  Her current work is looking at musical analysis and emotional recognition for realtime music composition and improvisation.

Meng holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Data Science from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
