Exploring embodied experiences in extended reality

Dr Victoria (Vicky) McArthurSenior Lecturer

Victoria (Vicky) McArthur (she/her) is a human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher and educator whose interests broadly include games and play (avatars, game design) and immersive storytelling (mixed reality, motion capture). Her current research is focused on the democratization of motion capture for emerging game designers and communities of practice within the digital humanities.

Prior to Monash, Vicky was an Associate Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada where she was co-director of MARVEL (the Mixed and Augmented Reality and Virtual Environments Lab) supervising projects pertaining to augmented reality, cinematic virtual reality, and reflexive ethnography using motion capture.
