What's going on at Monash Immersive Visualisation Platform?

As well as presenting some of the current projects in which Monash Immersive Visualisation Platform is involved, David touched on a few of his own current research interests, which fall broadly into the area of visualisation methods to increase the speed and extent of comprehension of big data through the consideration of the individual needs of specific audience members.

Biography

David completed his PhD (in radioastronomy and physics) at The University of Melbourne in 1998 before working for the CSIRO, Swinburne University of Technology, and The University of Melbourne. David has published in the fields of radio astronomy, signal processing, scientific visualisation, visualisation for communication, education and outreach, paleontology, forensic science, archaeology, and biomedical image management, analysis and visualisation. David is presently Director of the Monash Immersive Visualisation Platform.
