Rita Maria LahtinenPhD student

Rita Maria Lahtinen is an artist and researcher with an educational background in socio-legal law, as well as industry experience in writing and photography. She is currently undertaking her PhD under the supervision of Prof Jon McCormack, Dr Vince Dziekan and Prof Melissa Miles.

She’s an avid skater and surfer, and her research looks into sociocultural aspects of contemporary beach culture through the lens of experimental video and sound design. Looking forward, she envisions her career continuously supporting women, especially within the arts and innovative industries.

Rita holds a Bachelor of English Literature from Dalarna University and a Masters of Science in Law from Umeå University, Sweden.
