Sonic Space

The talk introduces selected artworks that explore processes of development, fieldwork, and ideas linked to sonic architecture, conceptualised around embodiment, imagination/auralisation, digital surveillance, and art and science research. With performative knowledge, which resides in the idea of a continuum — an epistemology ‘in the making’, an epistemology of wandering (emerging from the psychogeography of the french flâneur, or later the drifter) without stable states of equilibrium, leading to nomadic propagation ‘in the wild’. The importance to decentralise approaches in subjectivity in examining different paradigms and traditions in several parts of the world is to achieve a plural vision of the field of possibilities. That said, a global solution or answer is not what is sought; instead, the aim is the promotion of an ecosystem and cosmology of knowledges that are local and site-specific.
