Marília BergamoVisiting academic
Marília Bergamo is a Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil associated with the post-graduation program of Arts (PPG-ARTES) in the research area of technological poetics. She also teaches undergraduates in the fields of Design and Digital Arts.
While experimenting with Art and Technology she has been developing artworks that explore the relationship of interactive computational art, interaction design, and creation of multi-modal interfaces. Since 2012 her focus had been in evolutionary artificial systems. Her artworks in this area have been presented in the National Museum of the Republic in Brasilia (Brazil), and private galleries.
She has a PhD in Art and Technology from University of Brasilia (Brazil), an MSc in Arts from Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and MSc in Digital Design from University of Western Sydney (Australia).
While at SensiLab, Marilia is conducting her Post-doctoral research with the Creative AI and Biohybids teams to investigate the Open Problems in Evolutionary Art, especially the search for interesting phenotypes thorough the development of robotic structures based on sessile behaviour.
